Lets Talk About Power

What is a Power Strip? A power strip is one of the most common things you will see when plugging in your devices; it splits up one power source into multiple outlets. The main issue with this is in the event of a power surge or a lighting strike, the surge will be transferred to all electronic devices that are plugged into the power strip. This event can cause damage and more than likely render them useless.

What is a Surge Suppressor? A surge suppressor is similar to a power strip in the aspect that it splits up one power source into multiple outlets but the biggest advantage to the surge suppressor that the power strips lacks is its ability to regulate a power surge in the event it happens. It will turn off the strip so that it protects your electronics, you might lose any unsaved information but that is better than losing all of your information.

What is Battery Backup?

Battery backup is one of the most important things to have for your business. If you have a power outage the battery backup will automatically turn on and keep your server or computer on from anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on what battery backup you choose. Even if you get a 30 minute power time it allows you to save anything you are working on and safely shut down your computer or server, this could save you big bucks in the long run.
